At Hello Photo, children's safety, wellbeing and privacy are central to everything we do. We specialise in natural, play-based photography in kindergartens, child care centres, preschools and early learning centres across Melbourne and Victoria.
Our approach is designed to help children feel safe, relaxed and comfortable in their familiar environments, while respecting their individual needs, personalities and choices.
Our Commitment to Child Safety
Hello Photo maintains its own Child Safe Framework, supported by policies, procedures and staff training designed specifically for photographing children in early learning environments.
Our child safety practices include:

Our own internal child safety training, ensuring staff understand Hello Photo's expectations, procedures and responsibilities when working with children

Government-Developed Child Safety Training
Alongside our own internal child safety training, Hello Photo invests in external training developed specifically for Australia's early childhood education sector.
Our team undertakes:

Foundations of Child Safety - part of the Australian Government's national child safety training program.

Protecting Children – Mandatory Reporting and Other Obligations (Early Childhood) - developed by the Victorian Department of Education.
These programs strengthen our team's understanding of child safety responsibilities, recognising potential concerns and responding appropriately to help protect children during photography sessions.
Respectful, Child-Led Photography
We believe the best photographs happen when children feel comfortable, confident and free to be themselves.
Our photographers take a gentle, patient approach, allowing children time to become familiar with the camera and photographer.
We never want children to feel pressured into having their photograph taken. If a child is uncomfortable or doesn't wish to participate, we respect their choice.
Where appropriate, our onsite coordinators work alongside educators to help photography sessions run smoothly and support a positive experience for everyone involved.
Protecting Children's Privacy
We understand the importance of protecting children's photographs and personal information.
Hello Photo follows established privacy and image-handling procedures, with photographs shared through private online galleries for families to view and order.
We take the responsible handling of children's images seriously and maintain internal procedures governing their use, access and management.
